Every holiday season brings with it the best in bedazzled. It’s hard to explain why that certain sparkle looks just about right this time of year, but I completely buy into it. If holiday parties (and trips to Vegas?) are the only time where you can really bask in the glow then we’d best get our shimmer on stat. Let the buyer beware: there are two traps when it comes to heavy metals, the first of which is walking the fine line between “adorned” and “bling-bling” (the latter of which is to be avoided). Think more sequin than rhinestone and choose black opaque tights over bare legs and you should be set. Cost is the second trickiest obstacle and I’ve tried to provide some inexpensive alternatives for those not inclined to push it to the max this month. Screw diamonds- I say options are a girl’s best friend.

Dude. I bought a couple sequined tops at H&M two years ago and I STILL have them. Because I dont rock the sparkle all the time, the cheap stuff has lasted and is perfect for the hollurdays and going to see a show or something. Great tips Sister!

I just bought the cutest black sequin tank at F21. I’ve learned that a little sparkle is worth the fashion risk! I wore it out to dinner with dark blue jeans and black heels… and it was a hit!
