Rejoicing in the New Year can mean a lot of things: resolutions, a fresh start and the excitement of knowing that winter is on its way out! I have big changes in store for 2014, the first of which will be marrying my Prince Charming! Hallelujah! Amen! OMG! I’m. So. Freaking. Excited. Where to even begin?!

For starters, I am truly over the moon for my vintage Art Deco engagement ring from Maloy’s. I thought I wanted just an understated band, but once you start trying on fancier bling one quickly realizes that diamonds really are a girl’s best friend! While window shopping I couldn’t take my eyes off of this one particular classic, sparkly ring, and my amazing boo surprised me with that very ring a couple days later as he popped the best question ever! So lesson one of wedding planning learned: be open to new ideas!

You can expect some more wedding style posts as I venture into this unknown world of endless style decisions (all of which make finding Mr. Right look like the easy part)! For now, I’ve settled on my wedding color: white! For me white is just so clean and classic and a perfect starting point for my wedding vision. I’ve come up with a variety of ideas to share with my incredible florist (who happens to be my gorgeous niece), and I’m letting her take over creatively from here. Trust is a virtue, and I really don’t want to spend time micro-managing any one aspect too much. I strive to enjoy this process and savor the fun that comes along with being engaged. So far, so awesome! Cheers to a new, stylish year!
